2 Top Winter Makeup Tricks!
2 Top Winter Makeup Tricks!
Article by Amy Martin
Winter is often associated with dark, deep, brown and black makeup colours. The winter makeup focus is usually on the eyes and lips remain a key element for the makeup trends. Makeup trends are different from one designer to another. For example, designers such as Marc Jacobs usually go with a natural and simple makeup, while others were more on the pro-red side that could be seen at Chanel and Dolce & Gabbana. A red-coral colours are also popular among other designers such as Issey Miyake and Marni. Even though on the catwalks you can see red lips and smoky eyes, remember that this type of combination is only meant for very special occasions. To spice up your makeup during winter and look fabulous, sexy and hot this winter, here are two makeup trends and how to perform them by yourself:
1. Use vibrant colored lips
The lips are sporting vibrant colours this winter and red is the leading colour. Reminiscent of the golden days of Hollywood, the look is easy to apply. The colours that are must have are burgundy red, fire red, and purple for those who can carry it well. Orange is another colour to try out this winter. To start with, use your foundation on your lips. Then draw the shape of your lip with a lip liner. Start from the center of your lip and move to the sides; if you have thin lips, draw outside your natural lip line and just inside if you have thick lips.
Now fill up the lips with the lipstick of your choice. Pucker up while putting on the lipstick to make sure it does not go on your teeth. Blot extra lipstick with a tissue.
Lastly apply a coat of lip gloss for that shimmery soft look. Napoleon is our favourite pick!
Remember to keep your eye makeup to the minimum and also a “no makeup” look on your face for the most natural application!
2. Go for a nude makeup look.
Calvin Klein look for this winter is banking on natural “no make up” look. This is the perfect makeup to show off your beautiful and glowing skin. This is easy to maintain and do as well. To start with, use a concealer and foundation, close to your natural skin color to even out the skin tone. On your lips, use either a nude lipstick or a clear lip gloss. Depending on your hair color, use black or brown mascara on your eyelashes. Just add a dash of color on cheeks, which can be peach, rose or brown depending on your skin tone but in very low amount. Now you are all set for going out.
We love Nude By Nature Mineral foundation or MAC foundation for the most natural looking makeup to show off your glowing skin.
