La Masia: FC Barcelona Academy
FC Barcelona’s academy La Masia is always famous for its graduated students. World’s best player Xavi Hernandez, Andres Iniesta or Lionel Messi are outstandingly talented players of the football world and the greatest pride of La Masia. La Masia, which is situated in the club’s Camp Nou grounds, has design of typical Catalonian farmhouse built in 1702. The building was converted more than 30 years ago to become the residence place for young soccer players from all over the world. Barcelona’s youth academy has four large dormitories with dressing rooms, a kitchen, reading room, library, office and dining room.
La Masia, the Barcelona’s renowned training facility, trains such world beating players for the world’s football.

The football club pays for all the things for little players including food, teaching materials, teaching fee and training facilities.
The boys go to local schools every morning and come back at 2pm for lunch and siesta. Training time will be from 5pm to 6.30pm.
This is room for entertainment where young players can play games or chat with friends and family.
After intense training period in the afternoon, boys learn with private tutors in the evening after going to bed.
The reading room is decorated with youth cups and awards. Boys go to the best local schools to keep them ground.
La Masia is home to 60 boys; 12 boys sleep in La Masia and another 48 people live in other buildings in the stadium.
Puyol and Iniesta attended the academy in 1996/97 season.
The La Masia graduated students make up current Spanish squad with most accomplished players.
Reportedly, more than 500 boys have spent their teenage years and studied in the La Masia which produces some of the world’s greatest football talents.

La Masia aims to train young players with attractive and attacking style of play and short-one or two-touch passes.
Young students are taught the most beautiful version of the game, skills and discipline to become legends.
Pep Guardiola, Barcelona manager and a La Masia graudate once said, “The player who has passed through La Masia has something different to the rest.”
